Prosperity Scriptures

Prosperity Scriptures

There are two scriptures that have really stood out to me ever since I read them. The first is " beloved I pray that you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers..In other words you are only going to prosper in direct correlation to your mind, your will and your body prospering.

The second would be, "The blessing of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow..." So many people are chasing the blessings like Lot did instead of clinging to the Blessing of the Lord like Abraham did.

PROSPERITY SCRIPTURES

By humility and the fear of the LORD Are riches and honor and life. (Proverbs 22:4 NKJV)

Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. (Psalms 1:1-3 NKJV)

They shall build houses and inhabit them; They shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit. They shall not build and another inhabit; They shall not plant and another eat; For as the days of a tree, so shall be the days of My people, And My elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labor in vain, Nor bring forth children for trouble; For they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the LORD, And their offspring with them. (Isaiah 65:21-23 NKJV)

Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:11-13 NKJV)

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19 NKJV)

MORE PROSPERITY SCRIPTURES

Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish. (Psalms 1:1-6 NKJV)

The Psalmist makes it very clear here that true prosperity is not about living for the world, but about delighting ourselves in the ways of the LORD. This should open our eyes to an important fact: even though we are informed here that whatever we do shall prosper, godly prosperity is not the same as worldly prosperity. For when the world measures our worth by our works, God looks at the heart.

Prosperity Scriptures

Therefore, godly prosperity is not about accumulating or hoarding worldly wealth, but about storing treasure up in heaven, and thus being a light to the world for Jesus. You will not prosper in a godly way by seeking to meet the expectations of the world, but only by seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. For godly gain is far more valuable to the soul than anything that this world could ever offer to you.

People often assume that wealth is measured by how much of the world they possess; however, our true value is and has already been determined by He who gave His life for us all. That is, Jesus Christ. For we “were bought at a price…” (1Cor. 6:20); and nothing could ever lessen the value that God has placed upon our lives through Him who died for us while we were still sinners (Rom. 5:8).

Some may have more than others in terms of monetary gain, but in the end it all returns to the dust. The only thing that a person will be left with is their character; it will either be fit for heaven or ripe for hell. The choices that we make throughout our lives will decide that. Therefore, it becomes a question of how much value we place on God. Will we love Him enough to allow Him to take control of all of our worldly possessions, or will we choose to eat dust?

Prosperity Scriptures

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. (1 John 2:15-17 NKJV)

Have you ever heard the expression, “He who dies with the most toys wins?” Perhaps you’ve seen this before on a bumper sticker. Whatever the case may be, it is not true. For what point is there in exercising all of your energy to gain something that you will inevitably lose upon death anyway? In other words, if you are going to lose it all, then how could you be a winner?

Listen, the things of this world are passing away, and it is therefore unwise to live for worldly gain. For there are things that should be embraced which have eternal value; and these are the things that belong to God. Unfortunately, many people are looking to gain that which belongs to this world instead. Some of them even have the audacity to use Christianity as a means for wealth building, and thus they labor in hope to gain a world that they ought to be encouraging people to come out of it. But God didn’t give us the gospel for wealth building; He gave us the gospel to bridge the gap that existed between Him and man. People who endeavor to look for support in the Bible to promote lavish living have fallen short of the mark; they do not know the Christ who said, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.” (Matthew 8:20 NKJV)

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matthew 6:19-21 NKJV)

Prosperity ScripturesWhere is your heart right now? Where is your treasure?

Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?” So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.” He said to Him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, ” ‘YOU SHALL NOT MURDER,’ ‘YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY,’ ‘YOU SHALL NOT STEAL,’ ‘YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS,’ ‘HONOR YOUR FATHER AND YOUR MOTHER,’ and, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’

“The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?”

Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. (Matthew 19:16-22 NKJV)

Prosperity ScripturesThere is no doubt that this young man wanted God’s blessing; yet according to his estimation, it wasn’t worth it for him to give up his wealth in order to receive what God was offering him. He obviously thought that he couldn’t live without his worldly possessions. Thus he loved his wealth more than he loved God and thereby proved that even though he was living well according to the standards of the world, he was spiritually bankrupt. Hence he thought that he knew the law of God but failed to grasp the substance of its message which says, “it is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35 NKJV)

How long must the Holy Spirit contend with self-centered hearts? When will His voice be heard? When will people stop making excuses for being selfish and really follow Jesus Christ? When will we really love as He loves us?

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. (Revelation 3:20-21 NKJV)

Prosperity ScripturesHave you opened the door of your heart to Jesus Christ? Are you earnestly seeking to learn the lessons that He wants to teach you? Do you live in such a way as to show others that it is more blessed to give than to receive? What does your life say about God?

Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. (1 Timothy 6:6-11 NKJV)
